Used as evidence in recent criminal trials and touted by the media are writings found in defendants' homes. "A book of speeches by Hitler was found in the defendant's house" and "The defendant had a copy of the Koran in his closet." What the Sam Hill does that prove? I would end up burning in the depths of some fiery hell, dying a drooling old man in a government prison, or skewered on a pitchfork by torch wielding villagers if my library were used against me. Here are some of the tomes that I have on my shelves...ALL of which I've read and ANY of which would probably warrant my eternal damnation according somebody somewhere:
Bible (KJV)
Quran
On the Origin of Species
Book of Mormon
Tao Te Ching
Dianetics
Kojiki
The Satanic Bible
Communist Manifesto
Mein Kampf
I Ching
Torah
The God Delusion
Republic and Dialogues of Plato
The Art of War
Analects of Confucius
Critique of Pure Reason
PS: I neither recommend or condemn any of these works. But, if you are going to criticize any of them, you damn sure better have read them first. Otherwise, your opinion is ignorant and irrelevant.
PPS: It took forever and a day to make it through Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" and was tantamount to Vogon Poetry. (HGTTG aficionados will appreciate the depths of that pain)
