Decency and advocacy coexistence
You know what sucks? Everything is political. A couple days ago a memorial vigil was held in Orlando to remember the victims of the Pulse nightclub massacre. The anti-gun and anti-Trump groups just couldn't resist the opportunity to disrupt the somber gathering and shout out their causes. Were they within their rights to crash the public vigil? Of course, they too have freedom of speech and peaceful assembly. Was it a tacky, insensitive, self-serving, asinine stunt to further their own political agenda at the expense of folks grieving the loss of loved ones? Damn right it was. Is it too much to ask that people be allowed to mourn in peace? Advocacy and decency need NOT be contradictory objectives.
