Crash's Diet

Want to lose weight? It's very simple: Burn more calories than you eat. That's it. Period.

You can lose weight eating 10,000 calories a day of pizza, cheesecake, and ice cream IF you burn 10,000+ calories a day in daily activities and/or exercise. If you expend more energy than the fuel you consume you will lose weight, whether you want to or not. It's simple physics.

If you sit on your ass all day, working at a computer, you'll be lucky to burn 2500 calories. You can still lose weight without extra exercise if you keep your intake to say 1500 calories. Just be sure that what you DO eat crosses all nutritional areas to remain healthy. (Twinkies ain't it) Also, a wee bit of exercise--even if it's just walking around, simple chores, etc.--is best to keep the body dynamics working.

It isn't rocket surgery people. Avoid impulsive cravings and don't stuff your face with shit you know isn't needed as fuel for your normal activities. And for the love of God, don't be a schmuck for the thousands of weight loss schemes, drugs, and voodoo.

Tips:
- When the late afternoon hunger twinge hits, ignore it or distract yourself. It will pass. A couple big swigs of water, tea, coffee can help. (not milkshakes)
- Eat slowly or little bits at a time. It takes a good 15 minutes for your body chemistry to signal your brain that you are "full". Scarfing food quickly will overshoot what your body needs by the time your brain says, "I'm satisfied."
- Just because a restaurant piles a mound of food in front of you, you are NOT obligated to eat any more than you want. You won't burn in hell and kittens won't be slaughtered if you don't clean your plate.
